Katherine Strong

Katherine Heise Strong, 83, of Hurricane, Utah passed away on July 10, 2018 at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. She was born an identical twin in Garfield, Utah on April 28, 1935 to Edwin Frederick and Enid Catherine (Ottley) Heise. She resided in Magna, Utah throughout grade school and high school where she met Ken Strong. They were married on October 14, 1955 in the Switzerland LDS Temple, while Ken was serving in the U.S. Army. As newlyweds they enjoyed traveling around much of Europe for about a year before returning home to Magna, Utah. In 1957 their first of five children was born.

She was an avid skier from a young age all the way into her 60’s. She enjoyed quilting very much, she taught sewing and quilting classes as well. She liked to go camping with the family where she would fish and hike. She loved to be around her family and have family reunions where she would share stories and play games.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Donald Heise.

She is survived by her husband Ken of 63 years of marriage and her five children, Martin, Steven, Alonna (Stephen) Andrus, Vincent and Wendi. Also she is survived by her brother David Heise and sister Caroline Howard.
