Kathleen Fish Dalton 79, of St. George, UT, died peacefully in her sleep on August 6, 2013, at Kolob Care and Rehabilitation of St. George, UT. Born June 28, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA, she is preceded in death by her parents, Seymour Pratt Fish and Vera Pyper Fish of Provo, UT, and her brother, Paul Alvin Fish of New York City, NY and her granddaughter, Halley Gelpke.
Kathleen was raised in Overton, NV and graduated from Moapa Valley High School in 1952. She also attended BYU. Kathleen was married to John M. Dalton in 1954 and they raised their family in Sunnyvale, CA. She was married to Charles Hope from 1987 to 2001 and resided in San Jose, CA. She moved to St. George, UT in 2002.
Kathleen loved fine music, literature, and writing. She loved being a mother. She served in numerous callings in the LDS church throughout her life and cultivated a great love for others. In return, she was loved by many and was comfortable with friends of all ages and backgrounds. She had a strong testimony of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
While raising her children, Kathleen became involved in educational committees to improve her local community. She loved to experiment in new cooking techniques and took classes to pursue this interest. She had excellent sewing skills and loved handcrafts and homemaking arts. One of her more recent interests was the making of beaded jewelry. In her professional career, she worked as an executive secretary for various technology companies in Silicon Valley, CA.
She is survived by her children, Gary J. Dalton (Elaine) of Huntington Beach, CA, Lynn A. Dalton (Celine) of Cedar City, UT, Denise Lewis of South San Francisco, CA, Valerie K. Spackman (Steve) of Aurora, CO and Eric Dalton of Pozo, CA; and her brother Gerald S. Fish (Lona) of Springfield, VA; She has six living grandchildren.
A viewing will be held prior to funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 259 S. Mall Dr, St. George, UT 84790 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the funeral will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Cedar City, UT cemetery following the services.
