Our Mother Kay was born in Salt Lake City in 1923 to Herbert and Estella Gust. She grew up in Bingham Canyon Ut. Attended Bingham High School.

In April of 1942 she married Wilbur Thomas, together they had three children. Jim, Kathy Dee and Jerry. The family moved to Kearns Ut in 1953.

Kay loved sports and was an avid Bowler and Golfer. She won championships in both sports. Was a member of the Meadowbrook Ladies Golf League. She also worked at Kearns Lanes for several years.

Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren who called her Nana then just Nan. She love to play games, cards and all types of sports with them, they were all her favorites.

Mom and Dad became Snowbirds and traveled yearly to St.George. They moved there permanently in 1998 where they made many friends and spent time golfing and traveling around southern UT.

Kay had three brothers, Gordon, Russ and Don, two sisters, Patricia and May. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gordon and Russ, sister May Goodwin, Husband Wilbur and great granddaughter Shera Dawn. She is survived by her sister Patricia Sturgill, brother Don Gust, Children Jim, Kathy Garrett(Ed) and Jerry ( Debbie), eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, seven great, great grandchildren, two sister in laws, two brother in laws and many niece's and nephew's.

The family would like to thank Kathy Dee and Jessie Kerbs for the extra special care they provided for Mom the last year of her life. A celebration of her life will be held on March 4, 2014, 11:00am, at the Trinity Methodist Church in Kearns UT. 4290 W. 5415 So.
