Kaylene Rose Tippetts Cox, of Washington, Utah, age 73, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, following heart surgery. Kaylene was born February 25, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph Van and Viola (Godfrey) Tippetts and raised by her grandmother Ruth Koeven in Henderson, Nevada, where she graduated from Basic High School. She married Norris Legran Cox on June 15, 1972, in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. He passed away on January 19, 2014.
Kaylene worked as a Walmart door greeter for 19 years and was known as the Costume Lady. She made many outfits and costumes for various holidays and events, many of which were featured in the Walmart magazine. She was very creative and crafty. Kaylene had a mischievous and sarcastic sense of humor. She enjoyed serving as the ward librarian and attending the temple. Kaylene made friends easily and was loved by all who met her.
Kaylene is survived by her brother Glen Tippetts, and her children Norris "Junior" Legran, Morris Legran (Jennifer "Jenni"), Norrene, Sirron Norris, Nora Jean (Mike Leon), Narris Isaiah, 6 grandchildren, and sister-in-law Lillian Santos. She was preceded in death by her husband Norris Legran Cox, Sr., her son Sterling Tippetts Cox, and her brother DeVan Tippetts.
Funeral services will held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the LDS Chapel, 82 North Main, Washington, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. Interment will be at the Cox Family Cemetery in Cane Beds, Arizona.
