Kendall Empey

d. October 24, 2014

Kendall Bringhurst Empey, age 61, passed away October 24, 2014, at Dixie Regional Medical Center from complications of renal failure. He fought a valiant battle of poor health for the past 4 years. Kendall was born February 11, 1953 in St. George, Utah to Howard Empey and Norma Bringhurst Empey and spent his entire life in St. George, residing in the same home all of his life. His early years were filled with adventures with his childhood friends, which were his best memories, and felt blessed to live among wonderful neighbors. Once you were a friend of Kendall, you were always a friend. Kendall served a two year LDS Mission to London, England. He worked in many construction trades until his health declined in recent years. He loved his nephews and nieces, and their children. He was a kid at heart and enjoyed spending time with his extended family. His hobbies included gardening, cooking, bottling from his garden, and working in his yard. Kendall was strong-willed, opinionated and funny. He had the ability to make others laugh. He had a special love for his neighbors and the elderly, which he enjoyed visiting regularly and delivering produce. He was kind and generous to others. He is survived by his brother and sisters, Keith (Margaret) Empey; Janice (Ralph) Lamoreaux; Lawanna (Gene, deceased) Justet; all of St. George, and Carla Jean (George) Christians0n, of Prescott, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Merlin "Moe" Empey, nephew, Gary Empey, brother in law, Eugene Justet. Our family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Dialysis, and those who generously cared for Kendall. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George 8th Ward Chapel, 166 South Main Street. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at the Chapel from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the services. Interment, St. George City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McMillan Mortuary 435-688-8880.
