Kenneth Becker passed away peacefully Monday morning January 16 in St. George Utah at the age of 94. He was a great husband, father and friend. He was married to Elizabeth "Betty" Becker who passed away last Spring. They were married in Valparaiso, Indiana on Aug 30, 1952.
Ken grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before completing his Mechanical Engineering Degree at Valparaiso University. He met the love of his life and wife Betty there while studying. They eventually ended up in Blue Island, Illinois where they lived and raised a family while he worked for General Motors in their Electromotive Division (Diesel Trains). When he retired they eventually purchased a home in Valparaiso where Betty grew up and also a home in St. George. They would split their time between between the two.
Both Ken and Betty loved the West and traveling. They had many great adventures with their family and friends all over the U.S. including trips to Europe, Mexico and the Bahamas.
They were especially good at Car Camping with their young family in the 60's! Ken always had a kind positive word for just about anyone and was very independent. He was active in the Lutheran Church throughout his life. He was driving his car in his 90's, and enjoyed football, hiking and sports.
Ken is survived by his son David (Boise, Idaho), daughters Paula and Kathryn (Valparaiso, Indiana) and son Charles (Steger, Illinois). Ken also has 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, January 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2260 Red Cliffs Drive, St. George Utah.
