Larry Jones

Larry Douglas Jones, 75, of St George, Utah, passed away on December 19, 2022, after a brain injury from a fall in his garage.

Larry was born a twin on May 17, 1947 to Robert Irving and Elizabeth (Betty) Louise Jones in Denver, Colorado. After graduating high school, Larry graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where he graduated with a degree in Finance and was Student Body President in 1969. He married while in college and had 3 beautiful daughters. He later married Jacqueline (Jacquie) Woodbury in March 1980 and gained a son he later adopted.

Larry spent most of his career in textiles, sales, marketing. He worked alongside his father in the early years selling Pykettes. He was very fortunate in his later years to travel all over Asia buying textiles. He loved these trips and the people he worked with in these countries.

Larry loved to play golf, but back issues caused him to give it up. He and Jacquie then became dog owners to Jake, a sweet Jack Russell terrier who was his pride and joy. He also loved time spent with his family and 9 grandchildren, when they came to visit and on family trips.

Over the last 5 years Larry has worked full time for Harmons Grocery Store, which he loved. He made many friends among the employees and the customers through the years and was awarded many Customer Allstar Awards.

Larry was predeceased by his father Robert I. Jones, his mother Elizabeth (Betty) Jones and his grandson Gavin F Jones. He is survived by his wife Jacquie, his four children Kelly (April) Jones, Caro (Gustavo) Aguilar, Amy Jones (John Belding), and Heather Meg (Patrick) Bloomingdale; His siblings Polly Green, Jackie Cunningham, twin brother Barry Jones, and Roberta Burns. His grandchildren, Melissa Olson, Amber Jones, Gabrielle Aguilar, Michaella Aguilar, Kaylee Snowardt, Lainee Snowardt, Archer Jones and Kyrie Jones. Honorary grandchildren Sienna and Evie Atwood.

A visitation for family, friends, and those who were touched by Larry will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1285 N Bluff St., St. George, Utah. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:30 am in the same location.
