Lars Bruce Christensen, age 69 returned to the Lords side on the 4th day of March in the year 2016. Lars was born on the 24th day of February in the year of 1947 in Panguitch Utah to Rolin J and Velva Christensen.
Growing up, he would spend his summers in Panguitch fishing and camping. His Grandfather Schow would first teach him to tie a hook and reel in the many big ones he would later tell stories about. In his teen years racing his old Lincoln between counties. In those stories you knew it was his favorite time in his life.
Later, he would enlist in the United States Army and defend his country, like his father, in Korea and Vietnam. Being injured, he returned to the states and remained in the Army. Traveling to Germany and many other cities in the states, he would retire honorably after a twenty-two-year career and move his family to Southern Utah and call that home.
In La Verkin, he was able to take his children camping, hunting, and fishing. He loved teaching his them everything he learned from his father, uncles, and grandfather. He taught his children how to love the outdoors and respect what the earth can provide.
His huge heart was proven by the many that called him Dad and Grandpa. His heart and door would always be open to those in need and there was no one he would turn away. His smile was heartwarming and his sense of humor out of this world.
Lars is survived by his Mother, Velva Christensen; his Children, Christena Christensen (Cedar City, UT), Jackie and Charles Banks (La Verkin), Rolin Christensen (Provo), and J.B. Christensen (La Verkin) and many other that would call him Dad; his Grandchildren, Joshua Christensen, Garrett Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Noa Johnson, Gaje Jones, Jasmine Jones, and the many that would call him Grandpa; his siblings Rolena Gerber, Stanly (Butch) Christensen, R.G. Christensen, and Kevin Christensen.
Lars was Preceded in passing by Father Rolin J Christensen, Brother Kerry Thayne Christensen, and grandson Scotty Wayne Johnson
