Laurana Day, age 62, passed away peacefully in her home in the early morning hours of July 17, 2021, after a courageous two and a half year battle with metastatic cancer.
Laurana was born on October 24, 1958 in St. George to Erle & Phyllis Wittwer. She married Steven Day June 1, 1984. They later solemnized their marriage in the St. George Temple.
Laurana spent most of her life in St. George. She graduated from Dixie High in 1976. She met the love of her life, Steven Day, at a dance in Kanarraville. They spent 38 years happily in love. Together, they have 3 children, Michael (Janet), Scott (Crystal), and Ryan (Alexa). They have 10 wonderful grandchildren.
Laurana attended many craft shows across the state where she sold her creative designs. She was an avid reader and spent many of her free hours immersed in her favorite stories. She enjoyed traveling with her family and was able to travel to many places, her favorites being Scotland and Florida. She was a Disney fanatic and spent many wonderful days in the Disney parks with her children and grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she was known to listen to Christmas music and have a tree up all year round.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, parents and three brothers: John, Steven, and Khris.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 10 am at the River Ridge Chapel located at 912 South 1740 East (Foremaster Ridge), St. George, UT. There will be a viewing beginning at 8:30 am prior to the service. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery, immediately following the service.
