Lewis Rawlin Bagnall, Jr. passed at 8:15 a.m. Sunday the 21 st of April, 2013 while in the Dixie Regional Hospital located in St. George, Utah. He died as a result of health related complications at sixty-six years of age.
Lewis was born May 25, 1946 in Moroni, Utah to Lewis Rawlin Bagnall and Sarah Utahna Jensen Bagnall. He grew up in Ephraim Utah, helping his parent's manage the family farm and livestock gaining an education and love for animals. Lewis enjoyed an exceptional childhood, often having the first television, record player and other modern conveniences in town. He would have been an exceptional pianist, had the broadcast of the Mickey Mouse Club not interfered with his mother's plans during scheduled practices. Lewis Graduated from Manti High School as Salutatorian and a champion tennis player. He attended Snow College where he met, and would later marry VivianEster Kosan who had relocated to the states from the Panama Canal Zone. Upon graduation from Snow, the Bagnalls moved to Provo to attend Brigham Young University earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Upon graduation he went back home to what he loved, working with livestock. Finding it challenging to get back into animal husbandry, he took a job with the K-Mart Corporation as an Assistant Manager over Merchandising. He was often heard expressing how much he enjoyed watching the "merchandise turn-over on the shelves." After a few intermittent business ventures, he began working for the Utah Department of Corrections where he served for twenty years. He retired in St. George. Lewis was known for his kind-heart, generous nature, ready smile and amiable disposition. He loved books and was known by his family and close-friends as a wise and highly intelligent man. He has garnered numerous accolades and honor's through-out his life. Lewis's greatest joy was found spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, VivianEster Kosan Cascante Sales de Bagnall; his four children Lewis Rawlin Bagnall III, Erin Utahna Lebaron (Ronald T.), Jolene Kaye Christensen (Michael W.), William J. Bagnall (Cindy); his two sisters Colleen Larsen (Calvert T.), and Carolena Rasmussen; sixteen grand-children and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sun River 3 rd Branch, 4461 South Country Club Dr. St. George, Utah. A Viewing will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:45 at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George.
