Lloyd Dean Smith, son of Charles Edmund Smith and Elsie Miller, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2012, in St. George, Utah.
Lloyd, a great husband and father, was born on November 20, 1927, in San Francisco. He grew up in Anaheim, CA, and married Delores Mae Craig. They have three sons. Lloyd served in the US Navy during World War II, and subsequently spent the majority of his working life in the grocery business. He eventually retired from Alpha Beta Grocery Stores in 1983, and moved to Grass Valley, CA. In 1996, following the loss of his wife Delores, he married a wonderful lady, Coleen G. Williams. She has been a great blessing, a wonderful wife and cherished member of the family. They enjoyed fifteen years together, and moved to St. George in 2003. Lloyd is survived by his wife Coleen, her two children: Jackie Chronis, Steve Williams and their families; as well as his three sons Edmond, Craig, Rick and their families. He is also survived by his sister Anita Casto. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 3519 Manzanita Rd., St. George, Utah. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. before the services. He will be interred on March 10th in Grass Valley, CA. Lloyd will be missed by all his family and friends.
