Loren Stringham

Heaven became a lot brighter today. The strength of our family was called home Thursday, September 28, 2017. Loren Dean Stringham was born April 9,1943 in Portland, Oregon to Nathaniel Covington Stringham and Evva Mae Clark. Dean was sealed for time and all eternity to his college sweetheart, Maxine Ellen Jensen.

He was raised in Portland, Oregon and Riverside, California. At 6 foot 4 inches, he was a star player on his high school football team, and continued his football career at BYU where he graduated.

Dean loved to spend time with family. Many memories have been created through camping, hunting, fishing, and traveling. Dean always had a story to share, whether you were family, friend, or stranger. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and laugh. Dean had a strong love for the gospel and accredited all his blessings to the Lord.

He was one of the tallest and biggest men, yet everything would bring him to tears. His hugs made you feel like you could shut the whole world out and you would be safe.

Dean is survived by his wife and eternal companion of 54 years, Maxine, their 5 children Mark, Kelli (Ryatt Summers), Kriss, Deann (Jeff Stratton), Alyson (Justin Brader), 21 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, siblings Clark (Barbara) and Richard (MaryAnn), and his two teeny dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, and his brother Roger Stringham.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Bloomington 8th Ward Chapel. located at 3381 Mulberry Dr. There will be a viewing from 9:30  to 10:45 am. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery.
