Lynn Rodney Sedgwick, 87, died peacefully at his home in St. George, Utah on March 21, 2025. Lynn was born July 29, 1937 in Centerville, Utah to Alonzo Rodney Sedgwick and Alice Cherrington.
He grew up in Bountiful and graduated from Davis High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Janette Holbrook, May 25, 1955. His occupation as a mechanic was a natural fit for his curiosity and knowledge on how things work. Whether he was taking a toaster apart, working at Boeing Airlines, owning a Phillips 66 Service Station or overhauling a school bus for Jordan School District, he was making things run smoothly which he excelled at. His real love was his wife and family. Three girls and three boys, Lynette Batty, Rodney Leo Sedgwick, Randy Lee Sedgwick(Sheri Gadd), Glen Holbrook Sedgwick(Jennilyn Crawford), Jill Muhlestein, Alice Faber (Michelle).
All of his spare time was dedicated to creating a loving fun environment. The family restored old houses, ripping down walls, re-plumbing, electrical, painting, and creating a home of beauty right down to every detail. They prided themselves on their landscaping and gardening abilities and approached every task with dedication and compassion. His love for sharing words of wisdom and life lessons, were evident in everything he did. His greatest talent was being the best listener. He was a quiet man with a huge heart. He was firm in his faith through example and acts of kindness. He served many places including Bishop of the Pacific Drive Ward in American Fork, Utah. His service and his commitment to his family and community spoke volumes about his character.
The family would like to thank Dixie Home Care for their exceptional and loving way you attended to our dad.
A private family service was held at the McMillan Mortuary where they gathered to honor his life and legacy.
