Malcolm A Paterson, 91, died suddenly of natural causes on May 26, 2013 at his St. George home. He was born on August 28, 1921 in Preston, Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Paterson served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II.

He is survived by son Charles (Michele) Paterson of New Harmony, Utah; stepson Gary (Debbie) Romanik and children of Brentwood, Calif.; and stepdaughter Vicki Gillett of Culver City, Calif.

Mr. Paterson resided in Southern California for 80 years before moving to Sun River in 2005. He was employed for 36 years by Southern California Gas Co. in Los Angeles, Calif., where he served as a district supervisor before retiring in 1987. Mr. Paterson also was a Freemason and a member of El Segundo Lodge #421.

A memorial service will be held in southern California at a later date.
