Manuel was born to Constentin Nuevo & Emily Garcia, Canton OH. He married Lydia 63 years ago in Pasadena, CA. A veteran of WWII, he had many jobs, but the job he loved was taking care of Harrah's Villa, Lake Tahao, NV, where he met many famous entertainers. He and Lydia moved to St. George in 2000. Preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and sister. Lydia was born to Frank Brun and Mary Carlos in Kalaheo, HI. Preceded in death were her brother Tony, sisters Catherine and Frances, and two grandchildren Merreta Womack and Stacy Wyckoff. She is survived by a sister Eleanor (Howard) Bushnell, Tucon AZ.
Lydia married Adolph A Kruse in Hawaii in 1938. They had six children. They later divorced. Lydia moved to the main land before the war was over, living in California. She worked in retail all of her life. She and Manuel wed in California in January 1951. They lived most of their married life in California and Nevada. Lydia's surviving children are Betty Wyckoff, Bonnie (Joseph) Rutledge, Hurricane, UT, Barbara (Manny) Bustamante, St. George, UT, Donald (Patti) Kruse, Las Vegas, NV, Beverly Good, and Brenda Jones, Vallejo, CA. Also, 25 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 29 great great-children. The family of Lydia and Manny are deeply grateful for the compassionate loving care given by the Beehive Assistant Living staff and the Hospice Caretakers.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00am at the LaVerkin Cemetery, American Legion Post 100 will provide the Honor Guard. Interment under the direction of McMillan Mortuary, St. George, Ut. Condolences may be shared at mcmillanmortuary.com
