Manuel Anthonio Serrano passed away at 72 in his home on September 12, 2024, in beautiful Ivins, Utah with his loving children by his side. He was Born on September 15, 1951, in San Fransico California to Gerardo Miranda Serrano and Beatrice Villar Serrano. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Lorenzo Serrano and Justino Serrano. After having two children in a previous relationship with Patricia Gonzalez, Manuel married Dwan Marie Lewis in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 12, 1986 and they had four children together.

Manuel Serrano was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He was the 3rd of 8 children born to Gerardo and Beatriz Serrano. He was raised in his parents' Catholic faith and served as an Altar boy at St. Theresa's Church in SF. He attended Irving M. Scott Grammar School, Everett Jr. High, and Mission High School. Manuel continued his education graduated from the San Fran Police Academy and served as a police officer for a short time. He was charismatic, handsome, and a ladies' man. He helped his parents buy their first home in the hills of Daly City, California. His love for gardening led him to leave the police force and work as a gardener for the San Francisco Unified School District. After retiring, Manuel and his family moved to Ivins Utah in January 1994 and he had his last child the following year. Manuel was a stay-at-home dad and taught his children to love each other and to love their Heavenly Father. He deeply enjoyed spending time with his family and would say his children lit a flame in his heart. He was a deep thinker and received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from SUU out of personal interest. He enjoyed talking about family, religion, and politics. He had a great love for music and his family loved to hear him sing along to Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Smokey, Santana, and Motown greatest hits. He valued athleticism and enjoyed the sport of Boxing and had a strong admiration for Muhammad Ali. Manuel was an avid collector of artifacts related to Mexican, Aztec, Mayan, and religious history. Manuel has a deep, unwavering love for his family. He was full of love, care, and compassion, and had a great devotion to his Heavenly Father.

Manuel is survived by his six beloved children Beatriz Serrano, Daniel Serrano, Cherie Serrano, George Serrano, Roberto Serrano, and Charles Serrano. Manuel's six grandchildren are AJ Richer, Alex Richer, Ynessa Richer, Daniel Jr. Serrano, Avery Giles, and Antonio Serrano. Finally, Manual is survived by his five siblings Alejandra Duran, Gerardo Serrano, Margarita Serrano, Ricardo Serrano, and Angelina Serrano.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 11:00am at the LDS Chapel at 15 N Main, Ivins, UT 84738. The viewing will be from 9:30-10:30am prior to services. Interment will be in the Ivins City Cemetery 460 N. 200 W. St., Ivins, UT.
