Marba Hale

Marba Peck Hale, 90, died June 29, 2019 in Toquerville, Utah, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born September 13, 1928 in Provo, Utah to Zenna Hannah Cluff and Victor Elmer Peck. She married Norman M Hale. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, UT on September 23, 1954.

Marba was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a great passion for studying the scriptures, church history, and church doctrine, and was a great teacher on those subjects. She also served two missions.

As a very young girl, she lived with her family in a chicken coop during the Great Depression. She was the 5th of 9 children. She served honorably in the Air Force. She was a great seamstress and was known for her personally-designed stuffed animals and Barbie doll dresses, which she often gave away to family and friends, or to charity. It was a running joke in her family that she cheated at games because she loved to play anyone and usually won. She was known for her kindness and the special attention she gave everyone around her. She had a great sense of humor and always seemed to be everyone’s favorite aunt or favorite person in the whole world. She loved to camp and travel.

Marba is preceded in death by her husband (Norman), 1 son (Warren), her parents (Victor & Zenna), five sisters (Gwen, Betty, Merlene, Zenna & Vivian), and 1 brother (Cluff). She is survived by 2 sisters (Pauline & Lydia), 7 of her children (Mark, Brent, Laura, Spencer, Stirling, Ilene & Sheryl), 40 grandkids, and 34 great-grandkids, with 2 more on the way!

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11 AM in the church building at 63 Toquerville Blvd in Toquerville, UT. Visitation will be on the same day, at the same location, from 9:30-10:45 AM. Interment will be at the Toquerville Cemetery.
