Maria Whitehead

May 8, 1931 — April 13, 2017

Maria Josephina Miles Whitehead was born May 8, 1931 in Lohr Am Main, Germany and passed away on April 13, 2017 in St. George, Utah.

She was raised in Germany where she attended Catholic School there. She was part of the Hitler Youth. As a young girl she medaled in broad jump.

She met James R. Miles in 1952 and they married in 1953. They had a stunningly beautiful daughter, Michaela Maria Miles.

They came to America in 1957 to reside in St. George. Jim was killed in a plane crash on Cedar Mountain in 1965.

She then met Kay M. Whitehead from Cedar City. He owned and operated one of the last independent bottlers of Coca-Cola which gave them the opportunity to travel the world twice. They enjoyed playing golf together.

In 1971 she purchased the Ladies Boutique Clothes Closet. She was a volunteer Pink Lady at the old hospital for 10 years. She enjoyed getting dressed up and wearing her jewels and attending lunch with her lady friends. She very much enjoyed her flowers in her yard and her apricots that she freely gave to everyone. She loved her Pearl and enjoyed the walks in the neighborhood.

Kay passed away in 2009 in St. George. She is preceded in death by her two husbands. She is survived by her daughter Michaela and her brother Hans Kieslinger and many other family members in Germany.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the LDS church located at 200 W. 500 N. at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be held May 8, 2017 at the St. George City Cemetery.
