Marlin B Lance passed away December 2, 2018 in St. George, Utah. He was born February 22, 1940 in Moab, UT to Jay Reed Lance and Zina Cloene Barrus Lance. He married Patricia Jean Parry in the Salt Lake City temple on the June 13, 1966.
Marlin grew up in Moab, UT and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and riding his horse when not working hard to help his family. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Zealand as a young man and in retirement he served a second mission with his wife in Ukraine.
He attended BYU and BYU-H and graduated with a law degree from the University of Utah. He worked as an attorney for the United States Department of Agriculture, Forestry Division for nearly 32 years. He humbly served in many church callings and temple assignments. He was involved in his family activities and continued to enjoy working outside. In retirement he enjoyed traveling the world with his lovely wife.
He is survived by his wife: Tecia; children: Kevin Lance, Marla Jean Lance Alkema, DeAnn Lance Moore, Colleen Lance Jensen, and Michelle Lance Thrall; and twenty grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:30 am at 750 Fort Pierce Dr, St. George, UT 84790. Visitation is the same day at 10am. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery.
