Mary Alice Yardley Hymas, age 80, loving wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother passed away on January 23, 2018 from complications of having ALS. She was born on February 28, 1937 in Salina,Utah to James Otto and Alice Elizabeth Yergensen Yardley. She was the third of six children. Mary was married to her eternal companion, Max Richards Hymas in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 5, 1959.
Mary is remembered for her service to others. She served in various church callings such as Relief Society President, Primary President, and Visiting teaching supervisor. She and her husband, Max served for several years working in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Mary loved serving the women of the church through visiting teaching, making sure each sister she was over was visited and helped. More importantly she served her family, with kind notes, help with new babies, and being a strong example of a Christlike woman through her unwavering testimony of the gospel.
She is survived by her husband, Max Richards Hymas, her children, Kelly Ann Martinez, Mary Denise Davis, Douglas Max (Brenda) Hymas, Devin Charles (Jill) Hymas and her 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the LDS chapel, 1950 N. Coral Canyon Blvd. Washington, Utah. There will be a viewing from 12:30-1:45 pm at the same location. Interment at the Washington Utah City Cemetery
