Mary Constance Smith returned to her heavenly home joining her loving husband and family on April 15, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born to Rulon Loyd Burr and Agnes Dick in Westwood, Lassen California on March 7, 1937.
Connie, as she was known, attended schools in Redding, Sacramento and Susanville where she was active in drama and played in many of the plays. Connie had a beautiful singing voice and a love for music. She competed in many competitions as well as singing in her church choirs.
Connie met and Married her eternal companion Charlie John Smith (Chuck) on April Fool’s day April 1st 1955 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple.
Connie loved Children and established the Meadowbrook Daycare Center in Taylorsville. She later opened a daycare center in Enoch, Utah. Connie and Chuck became Ordinance workers in both the Las Vegas and St. George temples. They moved to St. George in 1996 and Connie worked for many Years as A substitute teacher for the Washington County School District. Connie was active in her L.D. S. ward serving positions as the Relief Society President, Young Women’s President and music chorister as well as a teacher in many church organizations.
She is survived by her Children, Judy Oakeson (Vance) of Burley, Idaho, Julie Barnett (Stephen) of St. George and James Smith (Sherian) of Payson Ut. She is preceded in death by her Husband Charlie John Smith, Her son Charlie john Smith II, daughters Jeannie Johnson, and Jodie Seegmiller. She is the Grandmother of many grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A viewing will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at the LDS Chapel on 1610 N. Dixie Downs Rd, St. George, Utah from 10:00-11:00am.Friday, April 19, 2024
