Max Blake Palfreyman passed away on September 11, 2012 at the age of 78.

Max was born in Provo, Utah on September 8, 1934, to Dennis Blake and Elva Ferguson Palfreyman. Max's father passed away in 1935. Elva married Mark J. Scott.

Max was raised in Lakeview, Utah. He attended Vineyard Elementary School, Lincoln Jr. High, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem, Utah. Max joined the U.S. Navy in 1951, serving four years.

Max married Helen Kay Bunnell. Of that marriage three children were born, Terri, Mark and Steve; Max and Kay later divorced. Max married Juanita Madsen Dowdell. Of that marriage three children were born, Lynn, Melvin, and Richard; Max and Juanita later divorced. Max later married Irene Sabin McClellan. Of that marriage one son, Scott, was born.

Max and Irene started in business in Nephi, Utah. They owned a machine shop, welding shop, family shoe store and a lounge. These businesses were all sold in 1980. Max worked as a machinist his entire life, retiring from Valtek/Flowserv in Springville, Utah.

After retirement, Max and Irene spent their retirement years in the St. George Utah area.

Survivors include Irene Palfreyman, his wife of 40 years. Children Terri Wilson of Huntington Beach, CA., Mark Howard of Sandy, UT., Steve Howard of Phoenix, AZ., Lynn Stott of St. George, UT., Melvin Palfreyman of Magna, UT., Richard Palfreyman of West Jordan, UT., and Scott Palfreyman of Enoch, UT.; Stepchildren Randy Dowdell of Redlands, CA., Robert Dowdell of Phoenix, AZ., LaRae Ward of Santa Clara, UT., Joe McClellan of Eureka, UT.; one brother Richard Scott of Portland, OR., one sister Sandra Carbotti of Columbia, MD.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one uncle Boyd Ferguson of Fresno, CA.

Preceded in death by his father Dennis Blake Palfreyman, his mother Elva F. Scott, grandparents B.D. and Louisa Palfreyman, Earl and Fern Ferguson, and stepfathers Mark J. Scott and Everett VanWagenen.

Services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the Santa Clara 6th Ward Chapel, 3815 W. Rachel Drive, Santa Clara, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the services beginning at 9:45 AM. Interment will be at the Springville-Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, UT on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at noon.
