Michele Moyes

Our dear mother Michele Garcia Moyes passed away at the age of 53, on July 1st, 2018. She was surrounded by all of her loving daughters, her youngest son, and her husband at the time of her passing.

Michele was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 13th, 1964, to Enrique Garcia and Elizabeth Bach. She married Michael Verl Moyes December 16th, 1983 in the Atlanta, Georgia, LDS temple. Together they enjoyed 34 years of marriage, and raised 9 children: 6 girls and 3 boys.

Michele was an avid crafter, baker, sewer, and card maker. She loved canning, gardening, hiking, and collecting sea shells. Michele graduated from Hanahan High School in 1982 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a dedicated mother, devoted friend, kind-hearted leader, and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her friends and family dearly. She was a gifted conversationalist, and always had loving wisdom and kind words to share.

She is survived by her husband Mike and children, Henry, Adam, Savannah (Dan) Stevens, Gioia (Taylor) Johnson, Danieletta, Gabby (Rusty) Sullivan, Caroline, Maggie, and Matthew. She had 3 grandchildren: Ridge, Jane, and Kate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sandra, and a son Nephi Michael Moyes.

Funeral services for Michele will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:00am at the Ivins 1st Ward LDS Chapel: 290 E 1060 S. Ivins, UT 84738.  The viewing will begin at 9:30am.  Interment will be at the Ivins City Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to all who so generously gave of their time, love, and service, to mom in her last few months of life. These things made the last part of her journey here on earth happy and meaningful.
