Miya Kresanek

Miya Kresanek, 95 passed away January 11, 2021 in St. George, UT at her daughter Linda’s home as she was her mom’s primary caregiver.  Miya lived a majority of her life in Great Falls, MT until a accidental fall at home left her less mobile and she went to live with her daughter.

Miya was born in Fukishima Yumoto, Japan on December 13, 1925 to Seinosuke and Kotsu Ebihara.  She married Richard Kresanek on June 1, 1953 in Tokoyo, Japan while he was stationed there with the Air Force.  To this union four children were born, Richard Jr, George, Linda and Patty.  During this time in Japan, Miya introduced Japanese culture to her children through dress, dance, and food.  In 1969 thy were transferred to Malmstrom AFB and eventually retired in Great Falls, MT.

Miya was a big fan of football and baseball, especially rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Mariners.  She also was a avid BINGO player and enjoyed Saturday night Japanese TV Sumo Wrestling.

She is survived by her son Richard, daughters Linda (Bryan) and Patty as well as 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters in Japan, sister-in-law Nancy Howard and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Richard, son George and her beloved dog Tom Tom.

Mom will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery at a later date next to Dad along with George’s ashes.  Mom we will miss you and love you forever and knowing you are pain free and reunited with loved ones eases our broken hearts.

The family would like to thank Benefits Hospice in Great Falls and Sun Tree Hospice in St. George for their wonderful care of our dear mother.
