Myron Evan Rawlinson, age 75, went on his final flight March 26, 2018 just a few weeks after being diagnosed with leukemia. He was the sixth child born to Claude Fisk and Irene Steele Rawlinson on September 2, 1942, in Delta, Utah. He learned a love of music from his father and together along with his brothers, they would play their guitars and sing all the cowboy ballads and songs of the time. It was a favorite part of any family get-togethers. He was raised in both Delta and Orem, Utah graduating from Orem High.
Shortly after high school he married Marjorie Carter and together they had five beautiful children, they later divorced. He then met his soulmate, Carol Jones, and they married on February 22, 1986. Myron loved aviation and had many personal aircrafts, small airplanes, ultralights, and radio controlled airplanes. With his love of anything aircraft, he earned his airframe and power plant (A &P) Mechanic aviation license and worked for Western/Delta Airlines as a commissary, ramp, operations, reservation agent. He retired on Dec 1, 1995 after over 27 years of service.
His aviation careers also included : Scenic air flight near Lincoln City, Oregon; for Fedex flying from Salt Lake City to Idaho Falls, Idaho flying in a single cockpit aircraft while living in Marana, AZ. He worked for Evergreen Air as an A & P Mechanic and also worked in Panama City, Panama for a brief time. When he wasn’t working, you could find him water skiing with family or giving airplane rides to his children, nieces, nephews, and anyone else who wanted to fly.
Myron also worked for the USDA as an Egg Grader for the state of Utah for approximately eight years and also farmed both dairy, corn, and hay. He lived in Utah, Arizona, and Kentucky. Wherever he was, Bear-as he came to be affectionately known-always gave it his all. He and Carol eventually moved to Hurricane, Utah where they enjoyed camping, riding ATV’s, art shows, and just being together along with their beloved dog, Sam.
Myron is preceded in death by his parents, his five brothers and sisters, Neil Rawlinson, Mary Lou Western, Naomi Rawlinson, Hal Rawlinson, and Melvin Rawlinson. He is survived by his wife Carol, and his four sons Todd, Jeff, Darren (Debbie), Matthew (Rebecka), and daughter Michelle and Blaine Bosshardt.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS church in Hurricane, Utah located at 272 S. 700 W.
