In the early hours of January 17, 2014, Neila Lee Wilson returned to her Heavenly home, where she was again reunited with her dearly beloved Mother and Daddy. Neila was born on December 10, 1941, to Thomas Richard Wilson and Mildred Mae Sexton Wilson in Missoula Montana. She is the fourth and youngest child. She has two brothers Phillip (Bud) and David and one sister Rita. Neila loved her native Montana and tried to go there as often as she could. She deeply loved her parents. She always referred to her father as "Daddy". Her Daddy always referred to her as tiny. Neila married Robert E Schnabel, Jr. on July 31, 1958. They left Montana not too long after that and went to California to start their family there. They had five children, Terri, Tom, Stu, Vinnie, and Andrea. Neila and Bob divorced on May 15, 1985. Neila never remarried.
Neila struggled a lot financially and physically after the divorce; she found joy in her children, grandchildren, Brutus (the greatest dog EVER!), and her many cats she had along the way. She also found much joy and peace in the gospel of Jesus Christ that she taught to her children.
Neila came to the St. George area in March 2003 and enjoyed very much her time here. She met many wonderful people and formed lasting relationships. She left St. George in February 2010 and went to Iowa for her last and final move. Neila's health during her time in Iowa continued to fail and it was not a lot of fun for her, but Andrea did her best to keep Neila's best interest at heart.
Neila is preceded in death by both her parents and brother Phillip (Bud) and many friends. Neila will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and scores of friends she has made throughout her life.
She is survived by all her children: Terri (John) Cordi, California; Tom (Collette), Iowa; Stu (Michelle), Ivins; Vinnie (Martha), California; and Andrea (Chad) Tiffany, Iowa. Neila has 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The writer would like to pay special thanks to Andrea for her selfless sacrifice and service which she has rendered to Mom these past few years. We love you so much and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Also, thank you to Bob McMillan for all his wonderful help and his compassionate heart and his kind hearted disposition.
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Ivins Stake Center located at 260 E. 1060 S., Ivins, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
