Norma Day Beesley, 87 years old, passed away November 11, 2021 in her home in St. George, Utah surrounded by her loved ones after a battle with cancer.
Norma was born March 20, 1934, in Roosevelt, Utah to Willard A. and Arvilla Day. She grew up in Roosevelt and Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1952 she married the love of her life, Ralph Beesley, in the Salt Lake City Temple and moved to Layton, Utah where they resided for 40 plus years raising 7 children. Upon her husband’s death she moved to Nibley, Utah before spending the remainder of her life in St. George, Utah.
Norma graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, made a career of Cosmetology and worked in Audrene’s Beauty School in Layton. Later she was an instructor of Cosmetology at Weber State University. Because of her modeling career as a young woman she shared her knowledge with many young ladies teaching proper etiquette and how to be poised.
Norma enjoyed reading, walking, gardening, sewing, oil painting and whistling.
She had a powerful testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and served in many capacities in her church including Relief Society and Young Women’s leadership with her favorite being the Stake Young Women’s girl’s camp.
She served as a senior missionary in Houston, Texas. Then served many years as an ordinance worker in the Logan Utah Temple .
She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Preceded in death by her husband Ralph Beesley and son Clifford Ralph Beesley. She was the mother of 7 children. Clifford Ralph Beesley, Shaunna VanderDoes (Jerry), Brenda Bench (Grant), Phillip Craig Beesley (Clarin), Amy Jo Dunford, Mark Albert Beesley (Carrie), Angie Nalder(Eric), 30 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 3:00pm at the LDS Chaple 449 S. 300 E., St. George, Utah 84770. A viewing will be held prior to services from 2:00-2:45pm at the same location. The funeral service will be live-streamed click on the link below.
Interment at Lindquist Layton Memorial Park.
