R. (Rolen) Drew Jennings, 83, passed away May 16, 2012, in Rockville, Utah. He was born on January 1, 1929, to Jim Jennings and Lovina Esther DeMille in Rockville, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Utahan Dalton on September 11, 1952, in the Saint George Temple.

Drew was a veteran of the Korean War, honorable serving for two years as a paratrooper in the US Army. He lived briefly in Long Beach California with his young family and then returned to Rockville. In 1958, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he worked as a cement mason, after which he retired to Rockville, Utah.

Drew enjoyed playing all sports and loved hunting with his boys. In high school, he was a 4 time state champion high jumper, and was offered an athletic scholarship to the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City. He was also a very good dancer. Those who are fortunate enough to have his hand carved wooden spoons or concrete garden benches treasure them. His greatest joy was serving and helping people. Friends and family will miss the sweet smile of this gentle, kind and hard-working man who dearly loved his family.

An active member of the LDS Church, he served in the St. George Temple for 2 years. Through his life, he often served as a leader in Scouting and in the Young Men's program as well as in other leadership positions.

Drew is survived by his wife Utahna Dalton Jennings, Rockville, Utah; 3 children, Sheilah Jennings, Susan (Jimmy) Owens, and Stan (Maria) Jennings, all of Las Vegas, Nevada, and daughter-in-law Lori S. Jennings of St. George, UT. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 12 brother and sisters: Lila Foremaster, Weldon Jennings, Daisy Ballard, Emily Day, Emeral Jennings, Lovina Jennings, Elwin Jennings, Oral Jennings, Helen Reynolds, Ellen Carter, Raynel Jennings, and La Dawn McDougal; his sons; Gordon Drew Jennings and David Rolen Jennings, and 1 great-grandson, Dalton James Jennings.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Springdale Rockville Chapel, 1584 Zion Park Blvd. in Springdale. A Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services at the church.

Interment will be in the Rockville Cemetery
