Ray Harley Adams, 86, passed away peacefully March1, 2011 in Washington, Utah. He was born July 11, 1924 in Bunkerville, Nevada to Thomas Harley Adams and Tamzen Hardy. He married the love of his life Peggy Joy Leavitt on June 6, 1947. They were blessed with four children: Pat, Harley, Lenora (Lori), and Brandt.

Ray proudly served his country in the Army as an ambulance driver during WWII and upon returning home learned the trade of a journeyman bricklayer. Later, he moved his family to Las Vegas and worked the balance of his career of 40 years at Adams Feed and Western Store. Ray loved horses, hunting and the outdoors and created many memories with his family and friends around the campfire at deer camp. Ray was a regular blood donor for many years with the Red Cross.

Ray is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Peggy; his son, Harley Ray Adams; his daughter-in-law, Pamela Joy Adams, his brother, Lynn Adams, and his sisters, Fern Waite and Shirley Nelson. He is survived by his brother, Mervin (Dora) Adams of Logandale, Nevada; his sisters LaVerne (Richard) Reid of Las Vegas, Nevada and LaRue (Leon) Pollock of Mesquite, Nevada; daughter, Pat (John) Kessel; daughter-in-law, Debi Adams; daughter, Lori (Joe) Eckman of St. George, Utah, and his son, Brandt Adams of Fort Duchesne, Utah; 11 Grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren (two more great grandchildren expected in June).

Funeral services are planned for Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. (Nevada time) at the Bunkerville Chapel under the direction on McMillan Mortuary. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 prior to the services. Internment will be in the Bunkerville Cemetery.
