Rayma Slack Wright, age 83, passed away April 27, 2016 in St. George, Utah. She was born August 31, 1932 to Oliver George and Fay Maxwell Slack in Cedar City, Utah.
Rayma was a graduate of Cedar High School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a visiting teacher and a visiting teaching supervisor. She had previously served in Relief Society Presidencies on stake and ward levels.
She married her sweetheart, Bryant Wright on September 2, 1950, 3 days after her 18th birthday. Their marriage was sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on November 22, 1977.
Rayma dedicated her life to her family. No one left her home hungry. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She loved to cook, read, and make beautiful crocheted items for friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Fay, brothers George, Stanley, and Rodney Slack, and sister Doris Feldt as well as brother-in-law William Feldt and sister-in-law Mary Slack.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bryant Wright of St. George, Utah, her children Susan Lee Sandholdt (Peter) of Hollister, California, Lynn (Kim) of Salinas, California, and David Alan (Dru) of Sunset, Utah. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, Douglas Slack (Elaine) of Pueblo, Colorado, and a sister Carol McKnight (Doug) of St. George, Utah. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored her and learned from her. She also leaves behind two sister-in-laws Bette Slack of Cedar City, Utah and Judy Slack of Placitas, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Foremaster Ridge Chapel located at 912 South 1740 East St. George, Utah. Viewings will be Friday, May 13, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday May 14, 2016 from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the same location.
Interment will be at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
