Rees Philip Jackson September 28, 1950 – April 5, 2025

With profound sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of Rees Philip Jackson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on the evening of Saturday, April 5, 2025. He passed peacefully in his St. George, Utah home, held close by the love of his family, after a brave and unyielding three-year battle with lung and stomach cancer.

Rees was born on September 28, 1950, in Cheltenham, England, to Reg Jackson and Margaret Day. From an early age, he was a blend of quiet resolve and boundless heart. At just 16 years old, he immigrated to the United States with his family in search of new beginnings. They planted roots in Seattle, Washington, where they opened a family bar, Russian Samovar. There, Rees learned the value of hard work and connection, pouring drinks and stories with equal ease, quickly becoming the heart of the room.

In 1968, with a deep sense of duty and patriotism, Rees enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for four years. Those close to him saw Marine valor in his every action, his discipline, loyalty, and quiet courage never wavered.

Later, Rees followed life’s winding road north to Anchorage, Alaska, where he worked for the Department of Transportation. It was there, amid snow-dusted streets and long summer days, that he met Losi—the woman who would become the love of his life. Their connection was instant and unwavering. In 2013, they moved together to St. George, Utah, ready to embrace a new chapter hand in hand.

Rees was a man of uncommon warmth. His humor was dry, his hugs genuine, and his words often few but always full of meaning. He lived simply but loved richly, and those around him knew the rare comfort of being truly seen and deeply cared for.

He is survived by his loving wife, Losi Amio Jackson; his four children: Lokelani, Sarah, Ashley, and Melissa; his four stepchildren: Michelle, TJ, Monahan, and Seiuli; and five grandchildren, each of whom was a bright spark in his life.

He also leaves behind his eldest brother, Rod, and sister-in-law Sue; their son Bo and his children great-niece Genevive; and great-nephew, Little Rod.

In his final wishes, Rees asked not for ceremony or grandeur, but for peace. He requested to be cremated in a private family gathering—an intimate farewell surrounded by those he loved most. He believed that life should be celebrated, not mourned.

To honor his incredible journey and the countless lives he touched, we invite all who knew and loved Rees to join us for a Celebration of Life:
