Richard "Rick" Evans

Richard “Rick” Evans, 77, Date of Death August 20, 2022 in St. George, UT.  Rick was born January 5, 1945 in Chicago, IL to Eleanor and Robert Evans.

After growing up in Chicago, Rick enlisted in the Marines in the late 1960s.  He served for several years before being discharged after an artillery range incident leading to an impairment in his hearing.  Rick was a career salesman by trade, working for the Spectrum Newspaper in St. George for over 15 years prior to his retirement.

His passion was cars.  He was a professional drag race driver, at one time driving a car in competition for one of the Smothers Brothers.  After hanging up the keys, he stayed around the game by volunteering at the drag strip in St. George. Through the years Rick restored and showed many cars, winning many trophy’s from which he found great satisfaction and pride.

Rick is survived by his son Richard, his brother Anthony, and his niece Stacie.
