Robert Jeffory Borden was suddenly called home on Christmas Eve, 2024 in West Jordan, UT. He was born on December 15, 1947 in Pontiac Michigan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Robert is survived by his wife, LuAnne Endres Borden, Cedar City, Utah, whom he married on January 11, 2018 and was later solemnized in the Cedar City LDS temple January 12, 2019. He is also survived by his children: Tonia Nielsen (Schon), Riverton, Utah; Teri Webster (Darrick), Parker, Colorado; Jeff Borden (Amanda), Hurricane, Utah; Mandee Hoagland (Jeremy), Riverton, Utah; Josh Borden (Angie), St. George, Utah. Robert is also survived by his step-children: Jessica Parlojean (Alex), West Jordan, Utah; Benjamin Endres, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Robert had 21 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 38 years, RaNae Marie (Eatchel) Borden, Betty Jane Ferguson (Mother), Clyde Ferguson Sr. (Step Father), Delbert Ferguson (Brother), Donnie Ferguson (Brother), Clyde Ferguson Jr., (Brother), and Jackie Coleman (Sister).
Robert joined the U.S. Army in November of 1967. While on leave during basic training, he married his high-school sweetheart, RaNae on December 22,1968 and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS temple January 24,1972. Robert was stationed in Saigon, Vietnam, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his excellent service.
Robert returned to Utah and worked as a shop foreman for Utah Repair while finishing his education at the University of Utah. Robert's career included working for Kentron Hawaii at Dugway Proving Grounds, and he formed his own company, Matchless Construction Co. He assisted in the management of his stepfather's business, Clyde’s Custom Body Paint and Towing, and he worked for State Farm Insurance Company. Robert was also a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and active in his community.
Robert Jeffory Borden loved life and laughter. He found joy in simple pleasures like golf, photography, drumming and fishing, and he was always eager to spend time in the great outdoors. His family and friends knew him for his corny jokes and "dad jokes," always ready with a pun or a silly quip to brighten someone's day. Robert's greatest happiness came from the love of his family, who were the light of his life. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on January 3, 2025, at 11:00 am at the LDS Church located on 3891 East Desert Canyon Parkway in St. George, Utah. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:45 am, prior to the funeral. A family prayer will be held at 10:45 am. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery located at 1777 S. Dixie Dr. in St. George, Utah.
