Robert L. Konkright passed away in St. George, UT on Nov.23, 2018 from heart failure at age 85. He was born to Floyd & Adelheid Konkright on February 17, 1933 on a ranch near Forsyth, MT. In younger years Bob was a talented standup bass player in Pop Konk's family dance band after racing horses during the day. He worked a few years for Shell Oil company in mid-west states. He was bartender and ranch hand in Belgrade/ThreeForks, MT. He returned to horse racing on the west coast before settling in Portland, OR area to work 30 years at Ash Grove Cement while living in Ridgefield, WA. Bob became a faithful LDS follower serving many church positions and a Mission assignment in Virginia. After retiring he moved to the St. George area in 2015 to find some sunshine and be near his younger brother Joe.
Bob is survived by his first wife Florence, children Janet, Debra, Doug of that marriage, and is survived by son Max and step-daughter Laurie from his last marriage to Mary. From these families he has numerous great-great, great, and grand children. He was preceded in death by wife Mary, his parents, and two older brothers. Per his wish cremation will allow ashes to be buried with Mary in Ridgefield, WA. Families will hold private services.
