Sandra Ann Hart, née Runkle, 81, devoted Wife, Mother and Faithful Servant of Jehovah, passed peacefully Tuesday evening after a long life, full of laughter, love, music, food, pets, and family.
Born in Long Branch, NJ, Sandy’s childhood was spent traveling around the world, wherever her father was next stationed in the U.S. Army. They settled in San Diego, CA where she completed high school, and a few years later she met and married the love of her life, Eddie Hart, USMC, who was stationed nearby at Camp Pendleton.
They spent 52 wonderful married years together, creating a loving family of four sons and two daughters.
Calling the mountains of Pine, CO home for many years, Sandy enjoyed the plentiful wildlife and opportunities to hike, bike, and otherwise chase her brood around the hills.
Ready a change of pace after many years of winter driving, they retired to Apple Valley, UT where they grew to love and explore the red cliffs and picturesque beauty of the high desert. She and Ed loved jumping in their Jeep and following backroads on many adventures.
After twenty years of Southern Utah, they were missing their Colorado mountains and moved to Bailey, CO where sadly, she was separated by death from Eddie when he passed away suddenly in 2015.
Sandy’s first chapter without Ed brought her to Columbia Falls, MT, where she resided with her daughter, Kindra, for three years before returning to Southern Utah, settling in the La Verkin/Toquerville area for the remainder of her life.
After a long battle with dementia, Sandy passed at home, holding her daughters’ hands and completing her earthly journey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samual and Mary Runkle, husband, Edward Arthur Hart, and son, Kevin Lee Hart.
She is survived by sons Brett Edward, Samuel Barton (Scott), Andrew Garrett (Rachel), and daughters Heather Marie (Michael) and Kindra Lynn (Rebecca), as well as eight grand fur babies.
