Our loving and dedicated 87 yr old mother, Sharon Fitzgerald Robinson was born July 2, 1937 on the beautiful family Ranch north of Kamas, Utah. Her parents were Guy and Dorothy Sneathen Fitzgerald. Mom spent her growing up on the ranch being the constant companion of her beloved paternal grandfather Riley Fitzgerald. With him, she learned to love horses and eventually became an accomplished equestrian.
Mom attended and graduated from South Summit High School as an honor student, attended Utah Girls' State and became the Queen or Attendant at rodeos in Summit, Wasatch, Utah and Salt Lake counties. She attended the University of Utah, for two years on an Education Scholarship. And was hired by United Airlines as a Stewardess (Flight Attendant) in 1955. She lived in New York City while flying and eventually transferred to Salt Lake City for the remainder of her career.
Mom married our dad, James Harvey Robinson in 1959 and our oldest brother James Harvey Jr. (JR) was born a year later. Dorothy (Dottie) and Russell (Russ) came along in the next three years. Our family lived on "the ranch" for the next five years loving the ranch life and being with our Papa (Grandpa Guy). Our Dad worked construction and Mom helped Papa with his poultry business. She would weekly take the three of us in the "egg truck" to Salt Lake City to deliver the eggs. Mom took the three of us with her when she decided to continue her education at Utah State University. Dad was working in the St. George area and would make the long drive to Logan on weekends to spend time with us. After graduating from USU, Mom was hired and began 26-1/2 years teaching, Business Classes and the Flight Attendant Program at Dixie College. Mom loved teaching and saw many of her students hired by airlines. She returned to United Airlines in 1985 as a new hire, She continued teaching and commuting to Chicago and then San Francisco to fly and truly loved and appreciated having two careers that were most enjoyable for her! As was the long association that she has had with many of her students. With Mom's many interests and responsibilities she still always found time for Dad and the three of us. Mom retired as an Associate Professor from Dixie State College in 1996 and was granted the honor of Professor Emeritus in 1997. Mom continued commuting to San Francisco and flying for United Airlines primarily to Japan, Korea, China and Australia. At United Mom completed several special assignments at United's World Headquarters and received hundreds of awards for passenger service and her organization abilities working with flight crews and management. She retired from United in 2003 and she and Dad moved to their "dream home" in the beautiful desert of Southern Utah.
Mom is survived by her loving daughter Dottie and youngest son Russ, both of Washington, Utah. Two, grandsons, Ken Huntsman of Park City, Utah, Trenton Robinson of Salt Lake City. Utah, Granddaughter Virginia Bundy and family. Her Mother, Father, Husband (Jim), eldest son, eldest Granddaughter Emily Robinson preceded mom in death.
