Sidney Dale Shutt, age 87, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones in St George, Utah. He was born April 14, 1938, at home in Tieton, Washington. He was the oldest of five children. Sid grew up in Tacoma, Washington, where he graduated from Bethel High School. He then served a two-year mission in the Northern States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Upon returning from his mission, he found his one true love, Dixie. They were sealed for time and all eternity on October 14, 1963, in the Cardston, Canada Temple.
Sid worked as a hairstylist and barber for 54 years. When he wasn't cutting hair, he was painting beautiful works of art as a professional oil and watercolor artist. Over the years, he won many awards, and his works were displayed in galleries in Seattle, Scottsdale, St George, Park City, and Springdale. His proudest professional achievement was having his work shown six times at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie; son, Dale (Connie Cannon); daughter, Heather (Scott Overson); seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Shutt; sister, Sarah Judkins; and his dear brother-in-law, Fred James.
Sid was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Claude and Frances Shutt, and his twin brothers, John and Larry Shutt.
He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Constitution of the United States. He also loved to read and was often found with a book in his hand. Sid will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
