Stanley "Stan" Thompson

With heavy hearts we report on June 29, 2021, Stanley “Stan” Max Thompson, age 52, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after valiantly fighting cancer for six years. The funeral will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2021 at 11:00am at 124 Valley View Drive Saint George, Utah 84770. A viewing will begin at 9:30am, followed by a family prayer which will be held at 10:45am. The  grave dedication will follow the services at Tonaquint Cemetery. Stan was born on July 3, 1968 in Murray, Utah. Stan was the youngest of five siblings, and was a kind and loving brother. He faithfully served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vina Del Mar, Chile. Stan was an enthusiastic entrepreneur as well as a self taught jack-of-all-trades. Stan inherited his mother’s work ethic, learning at an early age to work hard, a skill that would serve him well throughout his life. He bravely tried new things and succeeded in many areas such as design and programming. His creative and analytical mind allowed him to have out of the box ideas. Stan inherited his artistic abilities from his father and often engaged in artistic endeavors constantly inventing, drawing, and painting.  His bravery carried over into his love of the outdoors which brought him many adventures that included four wheelers, motorcycles, skiing, and shooting guns with his family. Coupled with his philosophical mind, his sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to all around him.

In 1995, Stan was sealed for time and all eternity to Pamela Joy Jensen in the Jordan River Temple. They welcomed into their family a son, Taft Allan Thompson, and daughters Katrina Joy Thompson, and Holli Pamela Thompson.  He was devoted to his family and could often be found befriending and ministering to others. He was aware of others' needs and would go out of his way to help them. Throughout the different aspects of his life, Stan always found ways to teach those around him. His charismatic and kind nature made it so he was beloved by many. Stan steadfastly served his mother, community, and church in many callings. Stan’s Christ-like love and big heart extended to his love of animals, over the course of his life he cared for many pets including birds, dogs, and cats.

Stan is survived by his wife Pamela, his children Taft, Katrina, and Holli, his mother Ellen Thompson, and his siblings Shelly Morris, Wendy Moon, Becky Opoulos, Cory Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Nathan Thompson, and Jude Ford. He is predeceased by his father, Max Alan Thompson, Junior.
