Stephen Michael Campbell, 79, of St. George, Utah died after a short but challenging battle with esophageal cancer on November 29, 2024.
Steve was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 24, 1945 to Marguerite Tracy and Harold Campbell. After a stint at BYU, he returned to Detroit where he met his first wife Cynthia Whitelaw. He was an entertainer from birth, known from a young age for his voice and his ability to perform. He traveled with the auto shows, modeled, acted, and sang professionally before pivoting and putting his performing skills to use as a traveling salesman. He moved to Arizona and Florida, adding children along the way, before settling in Overland Park, Kansas. Once the nest was empty, Steve and Cindy moved to St. George to start the next chapter of their lives.
In St. George Steve quickly found his home in the theater community. While working as a real estate agent alongside Cindy, he spent much of his time in the community reading to kids at the library, playing Santa, and traveling the country in his travel trailer. After the death of his first wife, Steve married Nadeane Dutson in 2018.
Steve was preceded in death by wife Cindy, sisters Joyce Schaeler and Martha Baldree. He is survived by his second wife Nadeane, brothers David and John, and his six children: Stephen Campbell Jr., James (Dusty) Campbell, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Campbell, Jennifer (Justin) Pond, Sarah Campbell, and Mary (Daniel) Fredley, and 5 bonus children: Jake (Anny) Davis, Josh (Hailey) Davis, Melissa (James) Grossman, Stephanie (Jake) Sparks, and Sam Dutson. He was the grandfather to 26 grandchildren, with two great grandchildren on the way.
