Steven Mcneil

St. George, UT - Steven Lee McNeil, a loving and devoted husband and father, lost his long grueling battle with complications of Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 52. Steve passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sept. 17, 2017 in St. George, Utah.

Steve was born May 2, 1965, in Portland, Oregon to Charles Craig McNeil and Lou Rita Mattice.  He attended Marshall High School long enough to know that it wasn’t for him, but when the Rock Band didn’t pan out he went to work throwing pies at the Flying Pie Pizzeria. He served an LDS mission in Louisville Kentucky, and married the love of his life on Oct 8, 1993 in the Portland, Oregon temple.

Steve started working in customer service and advanced rapidly to Director of Customer Service and Marketing. He also had a great love for real estate and when his security company closed his branch he decided to try his hand at it. Steve worked for his father-in-law and then opened up his own company. He had several good years until MS started to slow him down.  In 2010, he moved his family to sunny St. George, UT. He loved life and fought so hard for every minute. His family will miss his sense of humor and quick wit, watching him drum on anything, his long voicemails and short text messages, his love for music and singing around the piano, and especially those times when he said, “Hey, you got a couple minutes?”. Above all he loved his Savior and always knew that his life was in His Hands.

He is survived by his Wife: Rebecca (Robertson) McNeil; Children: Jacquelyn and Zak Miller, Katelyn McNeil, Lindsay McNeil, Mackenzie McNeil, and Nicole McNeil all in St. George, Utah; Mother: Rita McNeil in Beaverton, Oregon; Siblings: Mike and Julie McNeil, Kellie and Denny Marshall, and Scott and Rochelle McNeil in Oregon.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be held at the Morningside 4th Ward building, 930 S Morningside Dr, St. George, Utah, 84790 under the direction of McMillan Mortuary.  Public viewing will be held that morning at the church before services from 9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

Interment will take place at Lincoln Memorial in Portland, Oregon, under the direction of Threadgill’s Memorial Service.
