ServiceSusan B. Hughes, 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Bloomington, Utah in the early morning on January 13, 2025, after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Jaqueline Bagby and Dave Whitekiller.
After she graduated high school she was anxious to get out of Florida and go to college at BYU. She loved learning and being immersed in the gospel at BYU. While studying in the library she met and eventually married Dr. Devendra Singh and moved to Los Angeles, CA. They began a family and had four children. She loved her children and had a thirst for knowledge. While raising her kids she obtained her license as a nurse. Suzy wanted to create a better life for her children and that lead her to moving to St. George, UT. While building a life in St. George she became a massage therapist and continued to her education through SUU to eventually receive her bachelors of science degree in Psychology. Her biggest passion other than being a mom was using her talent to heal. She dedicated her life to the healing touch. Anyone who was lucky enough to get a massage from her would say she had the best touch. While she was a hospice nurse she met and married the love of her life Brian Hughes. He let her be the queen she was and he loved her all the more for it. They had dogs, cats, and chickens. They enjoyed talking about the gospel, laughing, movies, and going on trips but most of all just being together. Later, they were married and were sealed in the St. George temple for time and all eternity. They also completed a service mission for the church. She truly loved sharing her testimony with people.
She is survived by her loving husband Brian Hughes, children Joshua Singh ( Autumn) Joseph Singh, Anna Szabo(Ryan) and Jenna Paul (Jon). As well as her nine grandchildren, Leigha Bailey (Sam), Dev Singh, Ava Singh, Susie Singh, Hensley Szabo, Harry Szabo, Ashton Paul, Adam Paul, James Paul and so many family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her biological father Dave Whitekiller, her mother Jaqueline Bagby and father Grover Carl Bagby.
