Trevor Jacob Smith, age 34, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2018 in his home, surrounded by family, after a courageous, lifelong battle with many medical issues. Trevor was born March 12, 1984 in Ogden, Utah to Kevin B. and Marie Martin Smith.
Trevor fought all of his battles valiantly with a positive attitude and a smile on his face! With a smile and hug that could warm the world, he brought joy to all who knew him; He was loved by so many. Trevor faced numerous challenges in this life including brain cancer, three brain tumors, two rounds of both radiation and chemotherapy, a stroke, and hundreds of seizures. Defying all odds, he obtained a driver’s license, performed the duties as team manager for Pine View varsity football and basketball teams, graduated high school, faithfully served a church service mission at the Bishop’s Storehouse for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and worked at Boulevard Home Furnishings.
Despite his inability to physically participate, Trevor continued to exhibit a strong love for “all things sports”. When it came to the BYU Cougars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Utah Jazz, Trevor was the team’s biggest fan; he was the “stats-man”. Trevor loved to travel, with his favorite locations being Disneyland, Nauvoo, and Hawaii. His family meant everything to him and he enjoyed being with them! Trevor had a special love for his nieces and nephews-- a love that they effortlessly reciprocated; they will miss him dearly.
Trevor is survived by his parents: Kevin and Marie Smith, Washington,UT; siblings: Karissa (Michael) Corrigeux, Washington, UT; Derek (Colony) Smith, St. George, UT; Kade (LaTressa) Smith, St. George, UT; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and sister-in-law Lenae Smith, whom he loved dearly; we know they are rejoicing in their reunion.
Special thanks to Intermountain Healthcare, hospice and especially hospice nurse, Lisa Barr for their efforts and compassion.
