Verla was born of goodly parents Arnold Brinkerhoff and Amy Leah Matthews Brinkerhoff September 25, 1953 in Hurricane, Utah. She arrived as the last child of 8 siblings, Elaine, Geraldine, Raymond, Evelyn, Mary Ann, Helen, and Colleen.
She grew up in Virgin, and graduated from Hurricane High School in 1971. She attended Southern Utah University for a short time until she met and married her husband, Joseph Anthony Venuti. They were married October 23, 1971. They made their home in Salinas, California until he passed away March 2, 1995. She went through the temple and was sealed to Tony on August 2, 2016. He was the love of her life. They had no children. After he passed away, she moved back and forth with a job to Arizona and California, then retired back to Southern Utah to be with her family. She resided in St. George at the time of her death.
She is predeceased by her father and mother, Arnold and Amy and her sisters, Elaine, Geraldine, Evelyn, Helen and Colleen.
She is survived by her brother Raymond Daniel (Lenny) Brinkerhoff and sister, Mary Ann Brinkerhoff, (Lamar Bringhurst)), and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much for her sweet spirit. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel. She was set apart as an Indexer for the church and faithfully fulfilled that calling with diligence until losing her vision.
Per her request, there will be no viewing. A Graveside Service will be held Friday February 7, 2020, 1:00pm at Virgin Pioneer Cemetery, 200 N. 150 W. Virgin, Utah.
