Vickie Riddle Jensen

August 30, 1956 — January 21, 2025

Cedar City, Utah

Vickie Riddle Jensen (68) was born August 30, 1956, to Budd S. Riddle and Marlene Fife Riddle. She graduated peacefully from this life to the next surrounded by her daughters and other loved ones on January 21, 2025, after enduring medical complications resulting from a fall in her home in December. Vickie was born and raised, and lived most of her life, in Cedar City, Utah.

Vickie was a bright child who loved to dress up, and always had a purse on her little arm. She brought her sense of style and desire for beauty to the world. Vickie improved and beautified nearly every thing she touched and served others in many ways every day of her life.

Her love and commitment to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and her abundant faith, was paramount which she demonstrated in many ways. Vickie most recently worked as an organist at the Cedar City LDS Temple and in the Baptistry and was her ward’s Organist, but has dutifully served many callings over the years including Relief Society President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and Chorister, among other callings.

Beauty and care were expressed in Vickie’s career as a cosmetologist for over 35 years. Her hundreds, perhaps thousands, of clients were given companionship and care as Vickie worked to help them look their best.

Vickie cherished her four daughters, their spouses, and especially her grandkids, and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved being surrounded by family including siblings, nieces and nephews.

Loved ones, friends, and strangers received the benefit of Vickie’s many talents. As a seamstress, she sewed many cherished blessing and christening outfits for people across the country. These items were original creations based on rough sketches or conversations, and she would work early mornings and late nights at her sewing machine to make these items perfect. In addition to these beautiful and precious articles, Vickie sewed prom dresses, everyday clothing for her oldest children when they were young, near-impossible alterations, and home decor items, allowing her to supplement the family income. As a musician, Vickie brought music into the world around her by playing the piano, organ, and even as an upright bass player. She loved music of all genres, and delighted in Rock and Roll.

Vickie was a gifted and meticulous homemaker who could create a delicious and wholesome meal out of meager ingredients. She kept a clean home and enjoyed decorating all kinds of spaces. Creating a pleasing and comfortable environment being one of the many ways she expressed her love of others.

Although Vickie’s work ethic didn’t leave much time for hobbies, Vickie was an avid reader. She loved her scriptures, but also really enjoyed a compelling legal thriller with a cat in her lap. Vickie loved working in her yard and spending time with her grandkids. Vickie preferred being at home, not one to travel far or often, but enjoyed having loved ones and friends in her home.

Vickie is survived by her Daughters McCall (Carter) Jones (Kendall) and children Ella, Gwen, and Nohla; Annie (Carter) Gibson (Nick) and children Dane, Ian, and Pyper; Liz (Carter) Hinck (Spencer) and children Sadie, Sophie, and Max; and Seannee (Bassett) Allred (Zane), and her mother Marlene Fife Riddle,Her siblings: Jackie Riddle-Jackson, Ronald Riddle, Marilyn Green, and Gale Riddle and their spouses. Vickie is preceded in death by her spouse Robert Troy Jensen and her father Budd S. Riddle.
