Violet Leonard

1929 - 2014 St George, Utah - Our loving mother and grandmother Violet Peacock Leonard passed away peacefully on November 10, 2014 in St. George, Utah at the age of 85. She was born April 24, 1929 in Orangeville, Utah to Francis Dean and Louise Chapman Peacock. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, sons, Paul Dean Leonard, Dennis Leonard; and her daughter, Sharon Louise Leonard Bettino. She is survived by her son, Brent J Leonard, her daughters Jacqueline Leonard Zubal, Kayrene Leonard and Dianna Leonard as well as 22 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Violet was a stay at home mom and worked tirelessly raising 7 children. She had a passion for gardening and landscaping, loved camping, fishing, boating and their cabin in Joe's Valley, Utah. She was an exceptional seamstress sowing everything from the daughter dresses to darning socks. Her ability to create retail window displays, shopping with her daughters and decorating homes and stitching beautiful pictures. A celebration of Violet's life will be held on November 15, 2014 at a gravesite ceremony and dedication at the Salem Cemetery 130 E. 965 South, Salem, Utah. In the event of inclement weather the celebration will be held at the LDS Chapel 1129 S. 250 W. in Salem, Utah. Services will begin at 1:00 pm.
