Violet "Nancy" Murphy

Violet “Nancy” Stead Murphy,
Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother passed away while surrounded by her loving family on December 11, 2015. She was born on January 17th, 1929 to John Tom Stead and Florence May Simister Stead in Leeds, Yorkshire England. She married the love of her life, John Mark Murphy, on June 06, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.
Nancy lived in England till she was seventeen when she came to America with her family. She met and married her husband and have been devoted to each other for 66 years. They never liked to be separated even in the end where they died five days apart. They had five wonderful children who she cared deeply for. She had a passion for knitting, cleaning, and reading books.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her daughter Becky, and her great grandson Chase. She is survived by her four children Barbara, Mark (Teresa), Susan (Danton), Colleen (Myron), her son-in-law Mike, 15 grandchildren, 24 ½ great grandchildren, 1 great-great Grandson Eli, and her sister Audrey Baker Thorton.
The Viewing was held Saturday Dec. 12, 2015 at 11:30-12:45 followed by the services at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS chapel, 1625 N Lava Flow Drive.
The interment was held at Tonaquint Cemetery.
