My Mother's Presence
By Kelly Roper
My mother's presence always warmed our home
With peace and security and love.
She was like a gentle breeze that wafted through
Setting things right, creating a haven for us all.
Whatever problems we had, Mom solved them.
Whatever triumphs we had, Mom celebrated them.
Whatever needs we had, Mom fulfilled them.
Surely such a mother could never drift far
From those she loved with all her heart.
Though she has left her earthly body behind,
I feel her presence still.
Mom remains close to me, she knows my sorrow,
And she enfolds me in invisible arms I can still feel,
And she comforts me. Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right.
No one's eyes shined so bright with love
As my mom, who is now high above.
Our precious mother, Viviana Ruiz, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 after a 5 year battle with Pulmonary Hypertension. My mom was the heart of our home and family. She is survived by her loving husband Adan Penaloza who raised four children, Alma (45), Angel (43), Jenny (39) and Sonia (31) and beloved grandchildren Diana (19) Miguel (14) in a happy and loving home to be independent and thoughtful individuals.
My mom was the most caring and lovable person. If we could describe her, it would be that she lived her life as Jesus wants us to live it. She had no hatred in her heart, only pure love. She had a pure soul that she had love for everyone. She was a devoted mother and our great guide. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. My mom was known for her warm and huge heart. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed.
