Willard Ray White, a devoted and hardworking husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 97, in St. George, Utah. Born on October 25, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Willard led a life marked by service, dedication, and faith.
From a young age, Willard exemplified the virtues of diligence and community spirit, starting with snow removal for his neighbors. His industrious nature carried into adulthood, where he pursued a variety of careers, including upholstery, car painting, owning a trucking business, serving as a police officer, and working in a lumber mill and business management. His versatility and commitment to his work were admired by all who knew him.
Willard proudly served his country, spending 18 months in Japan during World War II. His sense of duty extended beyond military service, as he and his beloved wife later served an LDS mission at Cove Fort, Utah, sharing their faith and compassion with others. A dedicated follower of the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Willard was known for his passion in teaching the gospel and serving those around him.
Family and friends will gather to honor Willard’s remarkable life at a viewing on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the River Ridge Ward, located at 2434 East Riverside Dr., St. George, Utah 84790. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch in Ogden, Utah, 1718 Combe Road, So Ogden, Utah 84403 on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
Willard Ray White leaves behind a legacy of hard work, faith, and service. His memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
