Bill Miller passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Ivins V.A. Retirement Home at the age of 80. Bill was born to William E. Miller and Nellie Irene Thompson on September 28, 1933 in St. George, Utah.
Bill had his Masters degree in education and taught in St. George and Salt Lake for 35 years. Bill made a career of the military in The National Guard and in the Army special forces (Green Beret). He attained the rank of Colonel and was a friend, mentor and leader to those who served under him. He served his country for 35 years before retiring. Bill had a great sense of humor and was a true friend to all who knew him. He will surely be missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a brother, John Miller (Thanthan) of Ft. Collins, Colorado and a sister, Edna Mae Sampson of St. George. Our deepest appreciation for the loving care of Bill is extended to the caregivers at the V.A. Care Center, the caregivers of Hospice, and John and Patia Hansen. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 10 at 11:00AM at the St. George City Cemetery.
